CIEES collaborated with VDOE’s Office of Programmatic Design and Implementation to produce a promotional video for the Implementation Science Academy—bringing the experience of systems change to life through story, voice, and visuals.

Our Solution
CIEES led the creative direction, transforming rough interview questions and transcripts into a compelling visual story. Drawing on our deep understanding of VDOE initiatives and expertise in implementation science, we crafted a cinematic approach that blended on-site footage, voiceover narration, and carefully curated visuals into a cohesive narrative that made abstract concepts tangible. Our process included:
- Transformed interview transcripts into a cohesive story arc, identifying the moments that would hook the audience and resonate with leaders
- Directed on-site filming of interviews and b-roll at the academy site
- Curated image and clip selection to create a visual rhythm that matched the tone and accurately represented school settings
- Shaped messaging to highlight concrete benefits rather than abstract theory
- Thoughtful pacing and narration to make the work feel accessible and grounded
The result is a video that’s both informative and emotionally resonant—showing what it feels like to be part of ISA, not just what it is.
